The Numbers Behind the Crisis

We talk about veteran suicide like it's a statistic. But every one of those numbers is a name, a family, a community that lost someone it couldn't afford to lose.

Here's where things stand in the United States:

19 million veterans are living in this country right now.3 million first responders have retired from service.24,000 Gold Star families lost a loved one after 9/11.33 minutes is the average time between veteran suicides.24% of police officers report suicidal ideation.30% of first responders develop behavioral health conditions.

That last one isn't rare. That's nearly one in three.

Conventional treatment has helped some of these people. It has not helped enough of them. The crisis is not getting smaller, and the answer is not to keep doing the same thing and hope for different results.

This is why The Illuminating Co. exists.

Our Illuminating Heroes program was built specifically for veterans, first responders, and their families, for people who have carried things that most people never have to carry, and who deserve more than a prescription and a 45-minute appointment every few weeks.

Entheogenic medicine, when administered safely, legally, and with proper preparation and integration, has been shown in peer-reviewed research to reduce suicidal ideation, decrease PTSD symptoms, and improve psychological flexibility in ways that conventional treatment often cannot.

We're not asking you to take our word for it. The research is there. The outcomes from our own retreats are there. And the testimonials from people who came to us from dark places and left with something they hadn't felt in years are there.

The work is real. The need is urgent.

If you or someone you love is a veteran or first responder who has tried everything else, we'd like to talk. Our programs are fully funded for those who qualify. Healing shouldn't have a price tag.
